Notes: This plant is similar to Scilla siberica in morphology and origen, but has a cup-like structure containing the ovary and anthers in the center of the perianth. They have escaped from nurseries and gardens and are becoming naturalized in some areas of the United States.

Flowers: Six white tepals each with a central blue vein and six anthers; Floral scapes originate from an underground bulb and bear up to a dozen(+)individual flowers. An identifying feature is the cup-like structure formed by the elaborated and connate structure of the stamen filaments. The nectars at the base of the ovary are bright in UV light (see ref. 7 above).
Leaves: usually two, basal, linear, glabrous.
